Description
This Victorian sits atop a rolling hill overlooking the Doughty Valley in the heart of Amish Country. The cheese house is half a mile from the inn and the innkeeper rises at 3 a.m. each morning to attend to it. The views from the inn are wonderful, and if you're lucky you may even spot a deer grazing nearby in the morning. Guests may choose from 24 guest bedrooms, including the honeymoon suite, all decorated with oak or cherry woodwork. On the grounds are a pond, a fountain surrounded by flowers and both picnic and hiking areas with spectacular views. Nearby are numerous working Amish farms. The innkeepers offer a Swiss breakfast with delightful entrees like fresh breads, cold meats and cheeses, sweet rolls, cereal, fruit, juice and milk. Horseback riding and horsedrawn sleigh rides may be arranged for an additional fee. Seasonal packages include a variety of local activities including dinner with a local Amish family.
