Description
Circa 1948. Stay in a traditional east North Carolina farmhouse on fifty acres at Stella Country Retreat, also known as John and Lucille's Country Retreat in the small village of Stella on the Crystal Coast. Reserve the entire home and grounds for a week. Located just two miles from the White Oak River, eight miles from the Atlantic Ocean and beaches of Emerald Isle, towels and umbrellas are available. A welcome basket includes ingredients for the next day's breakfast. A fully equipped kitchen, cheery dining area and living room accented by knotty pine and photos from a local artist provide pleasant surroundings. Tastefully decorated guest bedrooms are delightful. Rock on the front porch; gather pecans; pick Muscadine grapes from the arbor or ripe plums, apples and figs from the fruit trees.

This Country Retreat is a farm house built on the property originally purchased around 1890 by Mr. William Kuhn, a German immigrant who was the second Stella postmaster.
