Fresh flowers and greenery cut from the gardens are thoughtful details in the elegant guest bedrooms. A satisfying Southern gourmet breakfast is served. Listed in the National Register and located in the historic district at the start of the self-guided walking tour, it is also one block from the Pamlico River, and a short walk to downtown shops, restaurants and a sailboat marina.

Policies

Minimum Stay Requirements: Minimum stays are required on most holiday weekends, ECU weekends and area festival weekends.

Cancellation: Should it be necessary to cancel any part of the reservation with less than 7 days notice, the deposit is forfeited or we reserve the right to charge 50% of your total reservation. A 2-week notice is required for certain special events and whole house bookings.

Historic Interest

The inn was built in 1902 by Frank Adams Moss and Mary Bonner Moss, local lumbermill owners. The carved mantles, each unique in design, were milled especially for the house, and three of the four guestrooms feature the original mantles, with original tiles. The house is now listed on the National Historic Register as part of the historic district.

Historic sites nearby: The Moss House is on the Historic walking tour of Washington. Bath, North Carolina's first town (22 miles), many historic homes, churches and graveyards from 1700s to present (within walking distance)

 

Romantic Interest

The Pamlico River Room, the deluxe King Bed room, offers a large master bath with double sinks, a tub/shower combo, bath salts and cozy robes. Arrangements can be made for wine and or flowers.
