Description

Circa 1930. Originally built as a private home on twenty acres, this popular inn is a secluded, timber-framed mountain lodge comfortably furnished with mission-style and rustic antiques. The incredible views, relaxing atmosphere and ideal location are the perfect combination for a romantic getaway or restful vacation. Relax by the stone fireplace in the main sitting room or sit outside in an Adirondack chair amidst gorgeous scenery. Tastefully decorated guest bedrooms, suites and a cottage boast mountain vistas and some feature fireplaces, kitchens, sitting rooms and private decks. A multi-course breakfast is served on vintage blue willow china. Hike the Silver Slip Falls, part of the Chattanooga River. Fly fish on an adjacent lake. Browse through quaint shops or take a day trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Inkeepers Notes

We are an inspected inn and member of Select Registry and Conde Nast Johansens. The Inn offers guests breathtaking views of Whiteside Mountain and Natahala National Forest from all guest rooms and Inn grounds. The Inn's interior/exterior and outside mountain views have been and will continue to be photographed by travel writers, artists and national magazines that visit this area each year. We have been doing yearly improvements to guest rooms, common areas and the grounds. Guests tell us that we provide high quality accommodations, extensive amenities and fine dining for breakfast and dinners. We have built a private home about one acre away from the Inn and are raising three children while we operate the Inn. We staff the Inn to a guest to worker ratio of 2.5 to 1 and provide high quality service.

The Courtyard

Spacious suite featuring a large sitting area and sleeping chamber with a luxurious marble bathroom. King-size bed with muted French Country style quilt, Turkish kilim and burlap shirred draperies. Windows provide a view of Whiteside Mountain.

A grand room with natural wood walls and a sense of traditional elegance. King-size bed with an impressive headboard of rich paneling. Many windows that overlook the terrace and the stone path leading to the nature trail into the forest. The bathroom is open and airy with earth tone marble features and an over-size shower.

The Chattooga

Features a strong French influence and a feeling of cozy restfulness. Queen-size bed with thick linen draperies. The bath is light and elegantly appointed with a linen Roman shade and creamy silk lamp shades.

A calm and relaxing room with a hint of view. The King-size bed rests on the backdrop of neutral walls and furniture in contrast to the dark plank floor. Heavy double doors lead directly onto a large private cathedral ceiling open-air room.

The Whiteside

With a view of Whiteside Mountain, features a Queen-size bed with leaf and green gingham. Quilted draperies, natural wood walls and old blackened flooring. The bathing chamber has a travertine grout-washed marble with double bowl vanity and generous shower. A comfortable sitting area leads to a private covered veranda.

The Blue Ridge Cottage

Features a homey setting that invites relaxation. The ground-level cottage of the two story building offers wooden flooring and earth tones, King-size bed and bay window seat with a view of trees and mountainside. Sitting area with sofa and soft pillows, large covered deck. A second bedroom, with private bath, features a Queen-size bed and a large picture window facing a view of Whiteside Mountain and a couple Adirondack chairs on a private porch. The second story of The Blue Ridge Cottage offers an identical floor plan but with sound softening carpet rather than hardwood.

The Sunrise Cabin

Features a stone fireplace mantle, laden with a trio of millstones, doorways and baseboard framed with wood bark and an elevated ceiling. Large master bedroom with a King-size bed leads to a bath of wood and marble with a spa-size tub. The second bedroom features a Queen-size bed and a bath with horn and bone fixtures and a bark vanity light. The kitchen is equipped with a washer and dryer. Includes dining and living rooms.
