Circa 1901. Experience gracious southern hospitality extended at the Historic Merritt House, a 1901 brick and granite Victorian bed and breakfast in the foothills of Blue Ridge Mountains and Wine Country. Oak and pine woodwork, high ceilings, antiques and family heirlooms highlight each room. Relax on willow furniture in the upstairs sitting room and browse the handmade crafts for sale on the hoosier. Gather for afternoon and evening refreshments in the formal dining room or on the wraparound porch. Elegant guest bedrooms are well-appointed and some feature whirlpool tubs. The Maxwell Suite includes a sitting room. Lunch is seldom desired after an indulgently filling breakfast. An assortment of special packages is available.
