Description

Circa 1850. Discover the gracefulness of the nineteenth century at this renovated Greek Revival home in Hudson Valley. Built by Col. William F. Wheeler as a wedding gift for his son in 1850, it was then rated "the most complete farmhouse in the county" by the local agricultural society. The classic design features a columned front porch that welcomes relaxation, as well as a back porch. Go through the grand two-story entry hall to the double parlors furnished with period antiques. There are nine fireplaces, several are found in romantic guest bedrooms that are without the distractions of phones or televisions. Savor a refined breakfast in the dining room each morning. Seasonal afternoon teas are offered by reservation. Browse through shops, visit the Sugar Loaf craft village and enjoy the many outdoor activities. Ask about specials and packages available.

Location: Country.

Inkeepers Notes

Southern style abounds as you approach the wide front porch with its stately columns and enter into a massive center hall, with its original marbleized walls and polished pine floors. Our 1850 antebellum mansion overlooks the beautiful Warwick Valley. Relive a gracious time in our nation's history, amid period furnishings in rooms with cozy fireplaces, Queen canopy beds and private baths with whirlpools for two. Enjoy afternoon tea on the veranda and breakfast in our dining room. Featured in "Victorian Homes Magazine" and "Time Out New York", we are the special place to host your elegant wedding, shower or private party. A great weekend get-away, we are only an hour from the George Washington Bridge. Warwick has many fine restaurants, shops, wineries, golfing, skiing, horseback riding and hiking trails.
