The proprietors of the nationally acclaimed 1797 Depuy Canal House restaurant also offer overnight accommodations at Locktender Cottage across the street -- an excellent solution to solve the dilemma of those who sometimes drive three hours to enjoy chef John Novi's culinary skills. Located beside the historic Delaware and Hudson Canal, there are three guest rooms (one with a fireplace), and what is called the Chef's Quarters with its own whirlpool, kitchenette and laundry. Pick-your-own orchards and vegetable farms are nearby. Other activities are winery tours, fishing, skiing, taking a Hudson River cruise, riding the Delaware and Ulster Rail Ride or tubing on Esopus Creek.
