Description
Circa 1840. Nestled among the cottonwoods and mesas of the middle Rio Grande Valley, between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, Hacienda Vargas has seen two centuries of Old West history. It once served as a trading post for Native Americans as well as a 19th-century stagecoach stop between Santa Fe and Las Cruces. The grounds contain an adobe chapel, courtyard and gardens. The main house features five kiva fireplaces, Southwest antiques, Spanish tile, a library and suites with private Jacuzzis.
