Description
Circa 1930. The Southwest meets Provence in this 1930 Adobe Hacienda built around a central garden courtyard full of wisteria, iris, daisies, pansies, geraniums and roses. Heated by an outdoor kiva fireplace on cool days and filled with birdsong on warm days, the courtyard is the perfect place to linger over a breakfast of homemade muffins and quiche or to return for afternoon tea. The high-ceilinged great room is warmed by a huge fireplace and furnished with overstuffed couches. Just blocks from Santa Fe's historic plaza, the inn's seven guest rooms are elegantly furnished in Mexican décor, each with a wrought iron or carved wood four-poster bed.
This property has been featured in Travel Holiday. Location: City/Urban. Inkeepers Notes
At the Hacienda you will find true dedication to superior personal service and attention to detail in a traditional Southwestern setting. The old adobe home is built around a gem of a garden courtyard. Filled with roses, wisteria, iris, daisies, pansies and geraniums, it provides an ideal setting for leisurely breakfasts or afternoon tea. In warmer weather, birds sing in the trees as sunlight filters through the leaves. The outdoor kiva fireplace takes the chill out of the air on cooler days.
For relaxing indoors, an over-sized fireplace warms the enormous "great room" with its 20-foot ceiling, vigas and hand-troweled plaster walls. Sit on the overstuffed couches in front of the fire or at one of the large wooden common tables to savor delectable homemade cookies, muffins and brownies accompanied by coffee, cocoa, ciders and hot teas.<BT><BT>
The decor throughout the house is an elegant blend of Southwest meets Provence. The adobe walls are painted in soft shades of sunlight. Lace curtains shade the windows, lovely Bauman prints grace the walls, and rustic Mexican furnishing inhabit every room. The seven bedrooms all feature private baths decorated with charming Mexican tiles, telephones, cable TV and air conditioning.
