Description

Miniature sheep, donkeys, goats, pot bellied pigs and roosters are raised on this farm. More than 52 acres surround the adobe hacienda. Among the nearby wildlife are falcons, golden hawks, rabbits, coyotes and prairie dogs. A variety of styles are found in the creatively and graciously decorated rooms, some with stained glass windows. Guests enjoy the kiva fireplace, antique cook stove and mountain views from the inn's common areas. A hot tub and a library stocked with regional titles are additional pleasures, and a year-round teepee accommodation is available. (The Sioux teepee offers a stone floor, fire pit and futon.) Your hosts, a television actor and a writer, serve breakfast with dishes such as waffles, fruit, cinnamon twirls and croissants. Santa Fe's plaza is a short drive away with a plethora of shops, museums, historic buildings and famous restaurants specializing in Southwestern dishes. The ghost towns of Madrid, Cerillos and Sandia Crest are nearby attractions.

This property has been featured in Albuquerque Journal, Animal Planet.

Location: Country.

Inkeepers Notes

It's almost a straight shot into downtown Santa Fe-only 17 miles to the plaza-but the feeling you get here is one of being far from anything. We are surrounded by beautiful mountain views and open, rolling desert; a morning tour of the farm will inspire with the surrounding beauty as well as entertain with the gamboling of miniature sheep, goats, donkeys and the dueling crows of the Elvises, our own tiny roosters. We have had guests that become so enamored of the farm that they barely venture downtown. But for those who long to tread into parts unknown be aware that this is a family of avid hikers who love nothing more than to pass on secrets of favorite places to walk and explore as well as information on cycling, skiing, fishing and horseback riding. We've been told that visiting the Crystal Mesa Farms is like visiting good friends, and it is our desire to provide good food, guidance, humor, hospitality and a cozy, unique and beautiful space to enjoy at day's end.
