Description
Circa 1884. Most guest rooms and suites of this Second Empire Victorian feature an ocean view. There is a handsome library and parlor, and the opulently decorated bed chambers feature Victorian beds, mahogany tables and multi-patterned wallpapers. The first-floor room has stained-glass French doors. Quiches, crepes and egg entrees are served on antique silver, crystal and Royal Worcester china. An English afternoon tea is offered. Antiquing, live theatre and shopping are available nearby.

Room DetailThe Audubon Suite
Sitting room features bird murals and Audubon prints on the walls. Includes a Victorian style fireplace(gas), a wicker settee, rocking chair, Eastlake parlor table, wicker chairs and cable TV with DVD player. Bedroom features a Queen-size bed, an American Empire mahogany dresser and mirror and two Victorian twin beds. Magnolia blossoms are painted on the ceiling, Magnolia wallpaper border, and a 1880s dresser and armoire. The private bathroom has a whirlpool tub with shower over it. The suite is air conditioned and has a private entrance off the porch.

The Iris Room
The largest room with a very elaborate 1880s ceiling paper and wallpaper with irises. Features a King-size cast iron bed, cable TV & VCR, a wicker easy chair, oak rocker and a marble-topped Eastlake dresser. It has A/C, a little refrigerator and a private bathroom with shower.

The Highland Room
On the second floor with an ocean view. Features murals of the Scottish Highlands on the walls and little Scottish angels on the ceiling. Queen-size antique brass bed, cable TV & VCR, a day bed and a small refrigerator, as well as an 1880s dresser, 1880s tables and a corner chair. Air conditioned; private bathroom with shower.

The Checkerboard Room
On the third floor with an ocean view from the bed. It has an 1880s geometric wallpaper border and stenciling. Includes a Queen-size brass bed with a half canopy, cable TV & DVD player, a turn-of-the-century oak dresser with owl-head pulls, Art Nouveau armoire and a Craftsman-style rocker and easy chair. The room is air conditioned; private bathroom down the hall, only used by Checkerboard room guests.

The Empire Room
On the second floor with an ocean view. Furnished with American-Empire furniture (1815-1859) and features a Queen-size mahogany sleigh bed topped by a canopy. Cable TV & VCR. Includes a 1893 wallpaper border, stenciling, marbleizing and is painted a Victorian color called, Ashes of Roses. The Empire Room is air conditioned and has a private bath which contains a shower.

The Celebrity Room
On the third floor with an ocean view. Features a tall wooden 1880s Queen-size bed with a half-canopy, cable TV & DVD player. Decorated with pictures of 1880s celebrities including Caruso, Oscar Wilde and Sarah Bernhardt. Also contains a Victorian armoire and a gentleman's dresser. Air conditioned; private bath with shower.

The Turkish Suite
On the second floor with an ocean view. Includes a large bedroom with a King-size brass and iron bed topped by a half canopy. Decorated in 1880s Exotic Revival Style featuring peacock feather fans, Middle-Eastern pictures and statues, fezzes and photographs. Separated by an archway from a sitting room with a sofa, cable TV & DVD/VCR and a small refrigerator. Air conditioned; private bath with whirlpool tub with a shower over it.

The Maple Leaf Suite
On the third floor with an ocean view from the bed. The sitting room features a comfy sofa, a Victorian-style fireplace(gas), cable TV & DVD/VCR and a small refrigerator. Decorated with elaborate 1880s ceiling paper and stenciling. The bedroom includes a tall, wooden 4-poster Queen-size bed. It has an 1880s marble-topped dresser and armoire, as well as Pre-Raphaelite pictures and family photos. Air conditioned; private bathroom with shower.
