Historic Interest |
The Little River B&B, believed to be built as a single family farmhouse in the 1870s, was bought by the world famous MacDowell Artist Colony in the early 1900s. Thornton Wilder supposedly resided here while writing the American Classic "Our Town". In the mid 1920s it was converted into the MacDowell Colony Inn until World War II. Historic sites nearby: The Peterborough Public Library (1.5 miles), the oldest "public" library in the U.S.
