Description

Circa 1939. A collection of 18 rustic cabins is nestled on two shores of the lake and a private island. They range in style and size and are from one to five bedrooms. All have fireplaces, kitchens and outdoor decks. All cabins have multiple baths and are equipped with tubs and showers. This resort is very private with many activities on the property that are free of charge including tennis, racquetball, canoeing and sailboating. A 24-hour convenience grocery store is also on premises. Children may enjoy watching movies that are shown every evening in the lodge, and there are daily activities that focus on the surrounding environment.

This property has been featured in Minneapolis-St.Paul Magazine, Midwest Living, USA Today, Parents, Country Inns, Minnesota Monthly, Architecture Minnesota, Outside Magazine, Boundary Waters Journal, Family Circle, Travel Network.

Location: Waterfront.

Inkeepers Notes

Ludlow's is a third generation property now operated by Mark and Sally Ludlow for the past 28 years. The property is completely private, reserved exclusively for our guests. The cabins are all situated under a canopy of pine and birch and positioned on the water's edge. Most of the resort is only accessible by water and we provide a boat taxi service (free) to shuttle you from your cabin to our recreation complex, your automobile, and our hiking trails. Lake Vermilion is situated between the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and the Voyageur National Park. The lake is 40 miles from east to west, has 365 islands and 40,000 acres of sky blue waters! Boating and exploring is easy as the entire lake is well marked for navigation. Fishing, along with other water sports, is the main attraction. Visit us. We have been serving guests for more than 68 years!
