Description
Circa 1910. This three-story red brick mansion boasts twelve fireplaces built of a variety of materials including marble, granite and copper. A massive glassed-in porch overlooks the inn's creek, which flows to Lake Superior a few blocks away. In addition to a gas fireplace, five suites offer a Jacuzzi tub and a brass, canopy or four-poster bed. The inn features beautifully preserved woodwork, a carved staircase and polished wood floors. There's a baby grand piano in the living room. Breakfast is brought to your room, and it is usually eaten fireside. Specialties include dishes such as stuffed strawberry French toast, bacon, fruit and lemon pecan bread.
