Description
Circa 1875. As history has shown, the homes of lumber barons are often some of the most luxurious. This Victorian, with its peak roofs and gingerbread trim is no exception. The Culhane family, who made their fortune in the timber business, used this home as their summer retreat. In the 1930s, it was rented out as a summer guest house, and today the innkeeper, Carolyn, has once again opened the doors to visitors. The rooms have charming names: The Garden Basket Room, the Wedding Ring Room and the Raspberry Wine Room, to name a few. The Parlor Room, which includes a bay window, is accessed by double pocket doors, a characteristic feature in Victorian homes. The Bay Room, which is one of the inn's common rooms, includes a hot tub in front of a gas fireplace.
Location: City/Urban and Lake Huron.
