Description
Circa 1890. Totally renovated in 1995, the Lakeside Inn features original wood pillars and rustic stone fireplaces in the lobby and ballroom. The inn overlooks Lake Michigan located just across the street, and was featured in a USA Today article "Ten Great Places to Sit on the Porch" because of its 100-foot-long veranda. Each individually decorated room combines the special ambiance of comfortable antique furnishings with modern amenities like TVs, air conditioning and private baths. Many of the rooms are on the lake side, and some offer Jacuzzi tubs. Besides board games or cards for indoor recreation, the inn offers an exercise room and dry sauna. Cycling, horseback riding, swimming, antique shops, art galleries and a state park are nearby.
