Circa 1760. This former stagecoach stop, tavern, store and post office offers guest rooms in three locations. Gedney Farm, on 300 acres, is a short walk away from the main house. It accommodates the guest suites in two enormous Normandy-style barns, where Percheron stallions and Jersey cattle were once housed. The elegant country decor is warmed by hardwood floors, hand-hewn beams and granite fireplaces. There are tiled whirlpool tubs in some of the rooms. The dining room offers colonial elegance in candle-lit rooms. "Superb" is the most frequently stated complement about the inn's fine dining experience.
