The land was once owned by Hawthorne, the Alcott family and surveyed twice by Henry Thoreau. Historic sites nearby: The inn is only a 5 minute walk to the 1,000 acre Minute-Man National Historical park that commemorates the first battle of the American Revolution on April 19th, 1775. The Old North bridge, of the "shot heard 'round the world" is 1.5 miles away and Walden Pond is just a few minutes away.
