Description
Circa 1849. The Brunswick Bed & Breakfast, a Greek Revival-style home, overlooks the town green. Guests often relax in one of the two front parlors, with their inviting fireplaces. Summertime guests enjoy the wraparound front porch. Rooms are filled with antiques, collectibles and quilts. In the years that the bed & breakfast served as a family home for law professor Daniel Stanwood, the home was host to an array of famed personalities, including Edna St. Vincent Millay, Thornton Wilder and Admiral Richard Byrd. Ice skating in the "mall" across the street is a popular winter activity. Freeport, only a 10-minute drive, is perfect for shoppers, and several state parks are nearby. Bowdoin College is a short walk away from the inn.
