Description
Circa 1830. Sitting on an acre in the heart of the historic town center, this Federalist-style inn has operated continuously for more than 160 years. Near Blue Hill Bay, it is distinguished by its shuttered windows, clapboards, brick ends and five chimneys. The wide pumpkin-pine floors are accented by antique period furnishings. Enjoy reading or socializing in two common rooms. Some of the romantic guest bedrooms feature comfortable sitting areas and fireplaces. The Cape House is a luxury suite that can accommodate a family of four. Breakfast includes a choice of entrees. Afternoon tea with refreshments as well as evening drinks with hors d’oeuvres are served in the garden or parlor. Ask about the seasonal Wine Dinners prepared by visiting chefs.
