Description

Circa 1785. Slow down and relax while staying at this 1785 log home built from huge hand-hewn native Tulip (yellow) poplar. Later additions include a Victorian wing and a slave wing. Restoration has preserved its rich heritage and The Homestead is now an Historic Kentucky Landmark. The quaint and peaceful setting is best appreciated from one of the porches or a swing overlooking the bridge and water. Antique furnishings accent the primitive interior and a grand buffalo head adorns the fireplace mantle in the living room. Guest bedrooms boast a rustic to Victorian décor. Farm-fresh eggs are gathered for a hearty country breakfast that includes homemade jams, jellies and preserves. Shop for treasures in the gift shop.
