Description
Circa 1883. Owner David Stuart estimates that it will take several years to remove the concrete-based brown paint applied by a bridge painter in the '60s to cover the 7,000-square-foot, Stick-style Victorian house. The interior, however, only needed a tad of polish. The varnished cherry and bird's-eye maple woodwork is set aglow under electrified gaslights. Don't let the exterior renovations deter your visit. Ninety stained-glass windows, eight pocket doors with stained glass and a magnificent entryway reward those who pass through.
