Description

Circa 1854. In 1854, Joseph Crawford, who counted Abraham Lincoln among his friends, built this Italianate Victorian house that bears his name. Now a B&B, Crawford House offers a glimpse into small-town America. Guest bedrooms feature feather beds. Breakfasts are served with white linens, china and stemware in the dining room. Gourmet breakfasts include juice, coffee, an egg entree, fresh baked goods and seasonal fruits. The streets of Dixon are lined with colorful flower beds. The area is popular for cycling and scenic country trails offer opportunities for walking, horseback riding and cross-country skiing. Visit the Ronald Reagan boyhood home, John Deere Historical Site or local antique stores. Rock River is two blocks away for boating, fishing and canoeing.
