Description
Circa 1872. A white picket fence surrounds this Victorian era house, painted a pleasant pink with white trim on the wide two-level veranda. The Inn is in the St. Marys' Historic District and is on the National Register. Heart-pine floors, original moldings and high ceilings are features of the rooms. Carefully selected reproductions, fine antiques, coordinated fabrics and rugs have been combined to create a sunny, fresh decor. There are four-poster beds and clawfoot soaking tubs. Breakfast is buffet style with peaches and cream, bread pudding or frittatas as specialties. The Inn is one block to the ferry to Georgia's largest barrier island, Cumberland Island, with 17 miles of white sand beaches, live oak forests, salt marshes and wild horses. Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge is 45 minutes away.
