Description

Circa 1850. Rope and ride like a cowboy at this working cattle ranch sitting next to the North Georgia Mountains in Cherokee Valley. Take each day at a personalized pace with experiences that will fulfill your wildest dreams. Parents appreciate the supervised age-appropriate activities that include bug catching and stargazing. Couples can indulge in candlelight camping, exotic gourmet cuisine and a meadow massage. Relax on a sunset horseback ride, swim in the stream or fish in the pond. Stay in the Overlook Cabin with an antique clawfoot tub, wood-burning stove and a balcony view of the rolling pasture. There are bunks in the Saddlehouse, and the Porch Cabin is suitable for families with young children. Accommodations are also available inside the historic main house where a hearty breakfast starts each day.

Location: Country and Mountains.

Inkeepers Notes

We are a working ranch and guest operation dedicated to entertaining and educating guests year-round. Learn to handle horses and cows in the same way as Rocky Mountain cowboys did 150 years ago. The Butler-Cape House is a restored 1850s farmhouse which was the scene of famous murders involving the Moonshine War in North Georgia. We provide the history and the resulting tales of unexplained events that still go on, around one of our campfires. Relax in our timber-framed wellhouse and watch the horse and cattle herds come into view. Boat on Parker Pond or wade in Big Scarecorn Creek and explore our private island, Isla de Cleona. We have a long list of experiences and adventures to suit you, plus packages for families and children.
