Description
Circa 1860. In the heart of Savannah's Historic District, The President's Quarters is comprised of Federal-style townhouses constructed by the W.W. Gordon estate. In 1870 Robert E. Lee paid a call here. Nineteen presidents are thought to have visited Savannah and the rooms at the inn today offer suitable accommodations for such dignitaries. Antique period furnishings, working fireplaces, four-poster rice beds, canopy or carved beds are featured, and the suites boast additional amenities such as balconies, hand-painted ceilings and loft bedrooms. Special services include fruit, afternoon hors d'oeuvres, nightly turndown service with cordials and local sweets and 24-hour concierge service. Breakfast is served in your room or in the courtyard. River Street is three blocks away.
