Description
Circa 1796. Originally a stagecoach stop between Hartford and Albany and now listed in the National Register of Historic Places, this Colonial inn sits on an acre in a quaint village setting overlooking the wild and scenic designated west branch of the Farmington River. The enclosed Grindstone Terrace, named after the floor made of quarried grindstone from Nova Scotia, features a raised fireplace and white wrought iron furniture. Decorated in early-American style, one of the guest bedrooms boasts a fireplace. A country breakfast is served in the dining room, and the Hobby Horse Bar with Vermont flagstone floors has saddles on kegs for bar stools.
