Description
Circa 1880. DUE TO A FAMILY EMERGENCY THE TROUT CITY INN WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE SUMMER. Reconstructed in 1987, this unique inn provides an opportunity to sleep aboard an elegant private pullman car, drover's caboose, station house or the Section House Lodge on their historic narrow gauge railway sites. Located at a homestead ranch high in the Rocky Mountains on Trout Creek Pass in the San Isabel National Forest, the entire inn features Victorian furnishings and decor. The Library/Meeting Room is in the adjacent Mercantile building. Group activities, murder mystery weekends and reunions are offered which use the train, western saloon meeting room, railroad station and telegraph office. A wildlife area, mountain trails and trout stream pass through the property. The surrounding region boasts some of the world's best fishing, whitewater rafting, mountain climbing, trail riding, shopping and summer theater in nearby towns of the Arkansas River Valley. OPEN DURING THE SUMMER ONLY.
