Historic Interest |
The hotel was originally built in 1861 during the gold rush. It burned to the ground and was re-built in 1880. We have restored it to the high ceilings and wood floors of 1880 and have decorated in a Victorian style Historic Awards: National Register (Granted). Historic sites nearby: Chinese Joss House, a State Park operating as a Taoist Temple (2 blocks),The 1856 Trinity County Court House (across the street), The 1901 Bandstand (next door)

Romantic Interest |
The Victorian decor with lots of white ruffles, flowers, pillows, Victorian furniture, four poster beds, fireplaces, clawfooted tubs all make for a Romantic atmosphere. In addition, we have lacy linens, chocolate truffles presented at turn-down on a silver tray with white paper doilie, fresh old-fashioned flowers put in the room for special occasions, romantic c.d.'s loaned to guests here for special occasions.
