The Inn at Schoolhouse Creek

Circa 1860. The Inn at School House Creek offers private cottages and rooms on its eight acres of rose gardens, forests and meadows. (The inn's gardens have been featured in several magazines.) Many cottages include views of the ocean and all have a fireplace. The inn offers a quiet getaway, while still being close to all of the fun in Mendocino just two miles away. Private beach access to Buckhorn Cove allows guests to enjoy whale watching, sea lions and the crashing waves of the Pacific. Organize your day to include a picnic lunch (available by advance notice) to enjoy at a secluded waterfall in the redwoods. Then take a sunset soak in the inn's ocean view hot tub. The next morning's breakfast may include a hot apple crisp with whipped cream, eggs, fruit and a variety of freshly baked muffins and breads, jams and juices.
