Description
Circa 188. Originally built as a stagecoach stop, this inn was the focus for the little town of Melitta. Still located down a country lane with walk-in access to a state park, the station has been charmingly renovated. Oiled-wood floors, a rough-beam cathedral ceiling and French doors opening to a balcony are features of the sitting room. Upon arrival, enjoy English tea and homemade scones. Three inviting guest bedrooms feature antique clawfoot tubs. Linger over a hearty country breakfast in the great room. Wineries and vineyards stretch from the inn to the town of Sonoma. Basalt stone, quarried from nearby hills, was sent by rail to San Francisco where it was used to pave the cobblestone streets.
