Circa 1867. Feel refreshed and rejuvenated by the seaside comfort offered at John Dougherty House in Mendocino, California. Enjoy the spectacular ocean views while relaxing at this delightful bed and breakfast just a short stroll to Mendocino Headlands State Park. Elegantly fresh and immaculate guest bedrooms and suites welcome sweet dreams. Accommodations feature an assortment of pampering amenities and some boast fireplaces, jetted spa tubs and private decks. Stay in the more secluded Kit's Cabin or the historic Water Tower with an 18-foot ceiling. A bountiful buffet breakfast includes entrees accented with edible flowers from the English garden, homemade scones and locally grown fruit. Special packages are available.

Raven and Osprey Rooms

With a commanding view of the bay and ocean these rooms offer the finest full amenity accommodations available in the Historic District. Each room has cable TV, firestoves, in room jet tubs, and king size four poster beds.

 

Captain's Room

One of Mendocino's best view rooms, featuring a private upstairs verandah with a spectacular view of the ocean, bay and village. A wood burning stove, hand stencilled walls, and a deep bath tub to soak away the stresses of a fast paced life.

 

Water Tower

The historic water tower has an 18 foot beamed ceiling above the four poster bed and hand stenciled walls. A sitting area with a wood burning stove provides a cozy place to curl up with a book.

 

First Mate's Room

Located in the historic house; featuring hand stenciled walls, pine antique furniture and a village view.

 

Starboard

A two-room suite at the bottom of the garden with a wood burning stove, separate sitting room and verandah, both with an ocean view. The south facing rooms are light and airy with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy your visit.

 

Port

Another two-room suite at the bottom of the garden with a separate sitting room and verandah, wood burning fireplace and an ocean view. The south facing verandah is sheltered from the wind and is super for sunning even when the weather is cool.

 

Kit's Cabin

A cozy two-room suite in the garden, with a wood burning stove, and four-poster bed. The view of the garden and the hundred year old cedar tree make this one of our most popular suites.
