Description
Circa 1889. Colorful gardens greet you at this gracious Victorian. It was once home to Dr. Edwin Hennessey, a Napa County physician and former mayor. Pristinely renovated, the inn features stained-glass windows and a curving wraparound porch. A handsome hand-painted, stamped-tin ceiling graces the dining room. The inn's romantic rooms are furnished in antiques. Some offer fireplaces, feather beds and spa tubs. The bathrooms all feature marble floors and antique brass fixtures. There is a sauna and a garden fountain. The innkeepers serve gourmet breakfasts with specialties such as blueberry-stuffed French toast and Eggs Florentine. Tea and cookies are offered at 3 p.m. Later in the evening, wine and cheese is served. Walk to inviting restaurants, shops and theaters. Nearby are the world-famous Napa Valley wineries. The innkeepers will be happy to make recommendations or reservations for wineries, the area's spas and mud baths, hot air balloons, the Wine Train, horseback riding, cycling and hiking.
