Description
Circa 1932. The home's location boasts some interesting California history. The Bear Flag rebels were a group of American settlers who planned a takeover of California when it was under Mexican rule. Although, it was actually a declaration of war by the United States that eventually landed California in American hands, the state flag still resembles the flag created by these early rebels. As legend has it, the man who created one of the bear flags did so on this property. The inn rests on what was the homestead of John and Lovina Cyrus. Another interesting item is that Mrs. Cyrus was a member of the infamous Donner Party.
