Description
Built to be a B&B, this raised cottage faces the Alabama River plain in the historic Cottage Hill District. It was made with wood that was painted white and red brick that resembles columns. A dining room, kitchen, sitting room/library with TV/VCR and a parlor are common rooms found on the second floor. Furnishings include family heirlooms and newly acquired antiques. Comfortable ground-floor guest bedrooms are thoughtfully decorated and accented with fresh flowers. Youngsters especially appreciate The Children's Bedroom with an old steamer trunk full of vintage clothing, toys and costumes. The large upstairs veranda features wicker chairs, adult and child-size rockers and a swing. Wood and wrought-iron furniture also pleasantly invite relaxation among the many plants. The inn is regularly inspected and rated by the Bed & Breakfast Association of Alabama.
