Each of the five rooms in this serene Victorian inn celebrates a different ethnic group that settled in the region. In the French Room, absolute comfort is found, from the Neoclassical feather bed to Louis XV chairs covered in champagne damask. The Irish Room features an antique brass bed and William Morris sage and celery chrysanthemum wallcovering. Other elegant rooms mark the contributions of German, Italian and Polish immigrants. To honor the land's first inhabitants, the upstairs Native American common area showcases Indian artifacts accented by stunning stained-glass windows. The inn is located in the five-block-long Linwood Historic District, an intact living museum of America's architecture where art galleries, antique shops and restaurants are just steps away.
