A Quaint and Comfortable Stay in Bay View

Terrace Inn is a must stay place in Bayview! Cozy old-style Inn right in the heart of Bayview! Rooms comfortable, high-quality linens, up to date, and all of the staff were beyond friendly-helpful. The Inn's Restaurant had excellent cuisine, breakfast included-scrumptious. Must have the desserts-home-made on sight as is all their food. The owner was even out and around amongst the guests, friendly conversational. There was a resident artist painting each day we were there. Would definitely stay here again, and again, and again.

“Delicious Food

We stopped there last week while on a vacation to Petoskey because we saw the menu in a Dining Magazine. What a great find! The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was so delicious, especially the fresh whitefish cooked on a cedar plank with potato and vegetable.....excellent. Freshly baked bread and unique salads adds to the great dinner. It was a beautiful evening, so we chose to eat out on the porch instead of the dining room...great choice....evening was perfect. Great place! Visited August 2011

Quiet retreat to a bygone era

We scheduled only one night as we were just in Petoskey for a wedding, however, the charm and location of the Terrace Inn will bring us back again. It is set on a quiet residential street in community of Victorian cottages that are a glimpse of summers at the lake long ago. The Inn is delightful in every way, from its welcoming large open staircase to its friendly and helpful service. The dining room is open and airy and the ample breakfast featured several fresh and hot selections.

Charming and Relaxing

My husband and I can't say enough about the Bayview Terrace Inn. We have stayed there many, many times and have never been disappointed. We always look forward to the laid back relaxing atmosphere. Mo and his staff make sure that you are comfortable and have everything you need. We would highly recommend “pizza night” on Sunday; the pizza is delicious as is the salad. If you would like to step back in time in a quiet relaxing place the Bayview Terrace Inn is for you. We are already planning our next visit and we just checked out yesterday.

August, 2010

The Inn is charming, but what really sets it apart is the staff, and their attention to every detail. We were so sad that our plans only allowed a single night stay.

Didn't Want to Leave

Everytime we go to Bayview Terrace Inn, we don't ever want to leave! The setting, staff, rooms, food - everything is just fantastic! Take a weekend to leave your hectic life and enjoy stepping back to a more gentle time of life...you'll never want to go home!

February Getaway

My sister and I visited the Bayview Terrace Inn back in February for the dog sledding adventure package. We had a FANTASTIC time, and created beautiful memories! This was our very first time at a Bed and breakfast and dogsledding so we were definately intimidated! When we arrived we quickly relaxed taking in the homelike feel of the Inn and the employees were very friendly! Patty and Mo were adorable hosts and have created a great place to visit! While my sister checked us in I tried out the lobby chairs which were by far one of the most comfortable chairs I have EVER sat in! This again surprised me beacause they didn't look it, which totally proves that looks can be deceiving! Once we arrived in our room it was like a standard hotel room and was very charming! It was pink pink pink! just how we wanted it! :) Breakfast was your standard continental and was great! I also liked the special touches within this INN such as complimentary hot chocolate served at night in the main lobby. The dining area also had candles and roses on the tables for evening dining. All of these little touches are important and created a lovely atmosphere to be in! Dinner at the Inn which came with our package was very delicious! If I has anything negative to say about this Inn it would definately be the parking which was horrible, because there is no actual parking lot. You have to park on the sides of the road and walk your stuff in! I recommend packing light! All in all i loved my stay here and can't thank the Innkeepers enough along with the entire dogsledding adventure team for allowing me to fullfill a dream of mine and for giving me a great place to stay in as well! I recommend this place to anyone looking to try dogsledding and would like to have a relaxing weekend! what a great experience! THANK YOU! Glorianna Cece & Jessica Cece

A Romantic Step Back in Time

If you're looking to totally lose yourself in romance and nostalgia, this is the perfect place for you. The moment you walk in the lobby doors, you expect to see beautifully dressed ladies and dapper gentlemen around every corner. Each room is individually decorated and has its own charm. Our whirlpool suite had a king size bed with a fireplace at the foot. High-speed internet and cable TV are available, but you won't want to interuppt your romantic adventure with it! Every staff member we encountered was so friendly and helpful, we felt as if we were visiting family. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. If you're looking to spend some time with your special someone in a truly serene setting, this is the place for you.

Dancing at Breakfast

We thoroughly enjoy staying at The Terrace Inn, a Bed and Breakfast in Bayview (Petoskey) Michigan. We visit at least twice a year and are treated very warmly with excellent service and accommodations, especially breakfast in the elegant Victorian dining room with a beautiful wooden “dance” floor – yes, we swing dance and waltz at breakfast time. Wonderful experience

We spent Thanksgiving weekend at the Inn. Wonderful Thanksgiving dinner buffet with turkey and ham and all of the trimmings. The hosts were great and made us feel special. The rooms a cozy and comfortable. Other guests were friendly. It was kind of like going home to Grandma's with all of the relatives. I highly recommend this inn and plan to return next year for the Thanksgiving weekend. Ruby from the UP of Michigan

Fall Romantic Getaway

This was our second time to stay at the Bayview Terrace Inn and we loved it even more. Our goal is to return every Fall and stay in a different room each time. It is peaceful, friendly, relaxing and in a beautiful setting. The service and food are awesome. We definitely recommend it.

Historic Inn, classic charm

Long weekend in July with my wife at the Inn; staff was helpful and responsive, pointing out hiking trails and explaining the history of the fascinating Bay View area. In the middle of the Bay View community, the Inn has a nice front porch for breakfast dining, with a back porch suitable for reading and relaxing. The lobby has comfortable leather chairs, two pianos and entry into the main dining room. The rooms are on the small side, which is to be expected with the vintage Inn. Because of when the Inn was built (1911), there are no elevators, but a somewhat creaky stairway. The breakfast, which is included, contained fresh scrambled eggs, french toast or pancakes, sausage, yogurt, fruit, granola and a potato/cheese/bacon/onion concoction that tasted good. The Bay View neighborhood association is quite fascinating, with seasonal cottages, over 400, many of them built from the 1870s to the 1890s. Walking along and seeing the different styles of the houses is quite entertaining - a beautiful area, with very friendly people. If you are looking for a charming get away in a historic inn, within a beautiful area, very close to Lake Michigan (within eyesight of the Inn), and offered at a reasonable cost, come to the Terrace - you will really enjoy it.
