This quaint New York town boasts of many festivities year round but the most famous of all is the weekend General Clinton Canoe Regatta where more than three thousand paddlers join fifty races in different classes -- one or two person classes along the Susquehanna River. The Regatta ends Memorial Day with a 70 mile stamina race that ends in Bainbridge starting from Cooperstown which is considered the world's longest single day flat water marathon canoe race. This race is part of the North American Triple Crown of Canoeing. Culminating these festivities are rides, live bands, and a cornucopia of shows. There are even fireworks displays during the weekend.
