Circa 1886. One of Manitou Spring's original hotels, this 1886 Queen Anne shingled Victorian is in the Historic Preservation District, listed in the National Register. Four guest rooms, three suites and Carriage House are comfortably appointed: from the exotic Oasis Room with its hints of the Far East to the elegance of the Peonies Room, a romantic favorite with King bed and clawfoot tub. Start the day with a hearty breakfast that includes courses like waffles with fresh strawberries and whipped cream, omelets and fresh fruit. Relax on the large front porch or stroll through town shops and restaurants. Within walking or driving distance is the Cog Railroad, Pikes Peak, Cave of the Winds, Cliff Dwellings, the Air Force Academy, the Commonwheel Artist Co-op and a number of museums and art galleries. Hikers will enjoy Mueller State Park, Waldo Canyon, Intemann and Barr Trails and Garden of the Gods.
