Best of The Best

I’ve stayed at many B&Bs and never enjoyed one more than Atherston Hall in Urbanna. So many different experiences wrapped into one wonderful stay, beginning with the charming exterior of the old home and lovingly tended yard you enter into an immaculately kept residence full of antiques and comfort. Judith and Bill, the owners, make their guests feel instantly at home. The bed was marvelous, bath pristine, living room with down filled cushions so very comfortable and the breakfast Judith prepared so perfectly delicious. Homemade granola with yogurt and fresh berries, coffecake to die for, scrambled eggs with chives, bacon, roasted fresh tomatoes, juice and perfectly brewed coffee all set upon a table fit for a magazine .... I cannot say enough good things about how much we loved our stay at this romantic treasure of a place through which Judith has quietly spread her magic.

Fantastic stay!

Enjoyed Atherston Hall and all that Urbanna had to offer. Visited this area for the first time and found Judith to be very inviting and the accommodations to be lovely. Excellent breakfast. Would highly recommend a visit. A great jumping off point to visit other nearby areas as well.

Wonderful weekend in a comfortable and inviting setting. Great attention to detail. Hostess was eager to please and even fixed a breakfast for an extra, stranded friend! Quiet and relaxing for our 1st stay in Urbanna.

wonderful stay

I have stayed here 3 x and each visit has been lovely. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The hospitality is welcoming. the current hostess Jill went out of her way to help me as did Judith the last time. the breakfast is outstanding. I highly reccommend it for a quiet cozy get away.

10 out of 10!

I'm not sure what the rating scheme is in the industry but I would call this B&B a 5 STAR establishment. Gracious hosts, well appointed rooms and this is the first time I've ever said it...breakfast was a dining experience! Natural cereal, fresh fruit for the natural yogurt, eggs and bacon. Milk, juice, tea and coffee. All on a wonderful table setting. This could almost be the destination, vs just a place to stay.

InnSide Tip - Pick the suite!
I had my nephew with me and we stayed in the suite upstairs. You have this upstairs area to yourself and there is a large main room with a sitting area & queen size bed, a second room with a twin bed and a large bathroom.

Fantastic stay!

I had a wonderful getaway for one night here. I really loved every minute of the stay and Judith was just a gem! She is the innkeeper and a wonderful, warm person who made us feel at home. I would recommend this inn as a hidden gem!

A wonderful birthday weekend

This Inn was perfect. It is within blocks of the marina, restaurants; absolutely clean and inviting. We booked the pet friendly room, which opens to the back garden area. Our dog was happy. The innkeepers are the best, welcoming, accommodating, professional and helpful. We can't wait to return.
