Wonderful weekend in a comfortable and inviting setting. Great attention to detail. Hostess was eager to please and even fixed a breakfast for an extra, stranded friend! Quiet and relaxing for our 1st stay in Urbanna.

Circa 1880. Originally built for a local schooner captain, this restored, historic home in Urbanna, Virginia is just a block from the Chesapeake waterfront, beaches and dock. Relax on one of the porches and linger in the English gardens bordered by a picket fence. The smaller front area is accented by a copper fountain and roses, while the larger is more traditional with stone sculptures, seasonal flowers, hydrangeas, roses and herbs. Two fireside sitting rooms offer pleasant settings to read or watch a movie. Daily refreshments of snacks and beverages are provided. Bikes are available for exploring the scenic area and afternoon tea is the inn's specialty, arranged in advance. Stay in a guest room on the first or second floor, or a spacious two-bedroom suite with private stairway entrance. Schedule a pampering in-room massage appointment. A lavish breakfast includes homemade granola, scones, Greek yogurt, fruit and a main entrée. A public swimming pool and tennis courts are nearby.
