Circa 1699. This manor house has lived through a succession of expansions, the first addition built in 1750. The final effect is wonderful and mysterious. The inn, thought to be a hiding place for Tories during the Revolutionary War, features a huge open-hearth fireplace with beehive oven and a secret passageway connecting the upstairs and downstairs suites. The inn is reminiscent of a gracious English country house and is filled with Oriental rugs and antiques. All but one of the guest rooms boasts fireplaces, and four have large whirlpool baths. Enjoy complimentary sherry, port and brandy as you relax in the cozy and spacious living room. Two acres of manicured lawns include a regulation-size tennis court. Nature lovers will enjoy the landscape, dotted with cherry and apple trees. The romantic gazebo is the perfect location to view the fountain garden. A full gourmet breakfast is served on the brick terrace or fireside in the formal dining room.
