Our Favorite Place

We first stayed at this inn the first year it was owned by Pat and Tom, about 15 years ago, and have stayed here twice a year since then. It is a very relaxing place to be. The rooms are very comfortable and equipped with Pat's homemade soaps and shampoos, which you can also purchase. Cookies are left out each afternoon (unless I eat them all...) and the breakfast is fabulous. Also, the guests that tend to stay here are always interesting and the morning conversations are intriguing. This inn is not within walking distance of downtown but we have never had an issue with parking for the theater, and it is nice to be somewhere quiet at night. We would move in permanently if we could afford it. Highly recommended.

A Place to Return To

Having visited many B&Bs over the years, finding one we have returned to over and over is no small feat. The hosts, Pat & Tom Howard, are extremely adept at making their guests feel welcome and like part of the family. And if you are coming to Ashland to attend the Oregon Shakespeare Festival this is the place to be. With lively conversations about the plays and guests who enjoy sharing their opinions, the breakfast table is a fun place to spend the breakfast hour or two. In addition, there are wonderful breakfasts and comfy rooms to get your day off to a good start.

Warm and Welcoming

We stayed with Pat and Tom at the recommendation of friends who stay with them every year they go to Ashland. All parties staying that weekend had stayed there before, in most cases many times--this is a true testament to the establishment. Pat's breakfasts are incredible--she serves fresh and local whenever possible. She accommodated dietary restrictions for us (gluten and egg free) and provided us with alternatives that were really tasty. Pat and Tom see all the plays and solicit input from their guests and pass this along to future guests. Each morning as we sipped amazing coffee, we would discuss the plays from the previous evening. Tom regaled us with stories of his acquaintances within the theater community. We felt like guests, not customers, at Oak Hill. We stayed in the Iris room which has a king sized bed. Many B and Bs put lumpy, saggy beds in their rooms but Oak Hill put a very nice bed. The sleeping was GREAT! There is also a great garden area out back and we spent many afternoons reading books, drinking wine, and relaxing. This is a fantastic B and B!

Delicious Food & Conversations

We've explored most of the B&Bs in Ashland in the past 25+ years. The first time we stayed with Pat & Tom, we decided this was the place! We come to Ashland to attend the plays and enjoy the surrounding countryside. We stay with Pat & Tom because we are treated to incredible food, relaxing rooms, and lively conversations. Starting the day with breakfast on the deck, discussing plays over coffee, and getting the scoop on the plays and the newest restaurants in the area.....what more could you ask for? Every year we are sad to leave such wonderful hosts.
