Circa 1789. One of the oldest homes in Castleton, Vermont, became a quintessential bed and breakfast in 2007. The innkeepers searched for three years then found this paradise with cool breezes where you can step right outside to fly-fish on the Castleton River. The five guest rooms are named after previous owners and their family members in order to honor the rich history of the inn. A full breakfast is served in the dining room with an original beehive oven. The inn is convenient to the Castleton train station, Rutland Airport, and many Central Vermont attractions. Race down a snow ski trail at Killington or Okemo. Learn about the history of the area at Fort Ticonderoga or Hubbardton Battlefield. Walk to Castleton State College, stroll through a quaint village, or shop the outlets in Manchester.

Historic Interest

The oldest part of Applewood Manor was built by the Hoyt family in 1789 and it is one of the oldest remaining houses in Castleton. A large colonial addition was built in 1805. The original kitchen with brick fireplace and beehive over is now a handsome dining-room. Many original features still exist such as oak and yellow pine floors.
