Circa 1856. It's not this grand Antebellum mansion's first owner, but its second for whom the house is named. Marcellus Williams and his wife, a great-great-granddaughter of the King of Spain, are its most esteemed residents. Among their many influential guests, the two once hosted Jefferson Davis, and, ironically, the first owners used part of the home for the Underground Railroad. It will be hard for guests to believe that the home was anything but opulent. Antiques from nine different countries decorate the home. The guest rooms are romantic; the gourmet breakfast served on the finest china; and the lush, fragrant grounds are shaded by a 500-year-old oak tree. The innkeepers also have restored the historic home next door, which was used as an infirmary during the Civil War. Four of the guest rooms are housed here, complete with clawfoot or Jacuzzi tubs.
