Circa 1927. Representing all that a New England country inn is hoped to be, enjoy relaxation and tranquility on more than 200 picturesque acres with mountain views and perennial gardens. This four-diamond-rated inn was originally a wedding gift from Frank Hogan to his daughter, Dorothy Adair Hogan. Dorothy hosted many famed guests here, including presidential candidates, Supreme Court justices and actors. Just-baked popovers start the morning fare, followed by fresh fruit, yogurt and specialty dishes such as pumpkin pancakes with Vermont bacon. Homemade cakes and cookies are served during the complimentary afternoon tea service. Flavorful food, made with only the freshest ingredients and artfully presented, is a point of pride at Adair. The intimate dining room with fireplace and wonderful views of gardens, both front and back, is filled with enticing aromas morning and night. A well appointed inn located on 200 acres of spectacularly landscaped grounds. This inn would be very worthy a location for Chelsea and new hubby to visit this year! SM

Just spent a lovely winter weekend here. The meals were wonderful..From the time we were greeted at the door to the time we left..nothing but the best. Our room was even upgraded. the moonlit snowshoe tour was fun...even though there was not a whole lot of snow..there was enough. The innkeepers thought of everything!

I came to this hideaway for my honeymoon and I couldnt have picked a better spot. The breakfast was amazing, the innkeepers thought of every detail, and everything about the setting, indoors and out, was perfect. The grounds were lined with beautiful old stone walls with chipmunks running in and out. It was the perfect spot for a romantic getaway nestled into picturesque mountains. They even put freshly baked cookies in our rooms every night. Needless to say, I will be back! The restaurant here was better than I ever could have imagined, I dont know how such a little inn was able to find such a talented chef. My advice is: order the lobster bisque and lamb chops.
