Abbercromby Penthouse Suites

I booked a room here in January thinking the setting downtown sounded great. The owner basically turned the place over to me but didn't warn me I should be prepared to clean it too. Used toothpick on an occasional table, dirty fridge, wallpaper peeling, dirty soap in shower...what a nightmare. Got a fantastic massage there and then just left. The owner has yet to contact me. I suspect she knows she's running a dump.

Enjoyed a very cozy and romantic weekend in Decatur. Stayed in the Summersby Suite and could not have had a better time. The accommodations were top notch and the hosts very gracious and welcoming. Breakfast the next morning (at the Peppermill Diner) was delicious and filling. We highly recommend taking the short drive to Boyd for dinner and trying the seafood at Gogo Gumbo. Fabulous food. We're headed back soon!

What a cute place. We didn't get to see all of the rooms because they were booked up, but we were able to stay in the western room on our "Spur" of the moment weekend getaway. "Spur" - very apropos for a western themed room. The attention to detail was very cute. We had so much fun walking around the Downtown Square for and looking at all of the old cars that were there for a car show. It kind of felt like we had gone back in time (except for the flat screen). It wasn't too far of a drive from Dallas. Looking forward to getting to stay in the other rooms soon.

The antique Victorian atmosphere in the parlor was perfect for our small wedding. My parents and in-laws are still talking about how beautiful the bed and breakfast is.

I took my girlfriend to Decatur for the Swirl event on 11/5/11. We had a great time with lots of wonderful food and wine samples around the square. Loved it so much, we're heading back on the first weekend in December for Moonlight Madness. We're staying at Abbercromby Penthouse Suites. Checked it out while we were in town and can't wait for our return visit. If you're looking for something different to do on a weekend (with plenty of great shops, restaurants, accomodations), head to Decatur for one their well-planned events.
