A Magical Setting

Luck was on our side this past October when we decided to plot a quick getaway to New Hampshire for a little R&R. After much surfing around the web, we happened on A Newfound B&B in Bristol. From the moment we arrived for our 3 night stay, we knew we had made the right decision. The inn was absolutely lovely and the view of Newfound Lake and the surrounding mountains was truly breathtaking. Our host and owner of the B&B, Sondra Keene, was just delightful and made us feel instantly at home. Each morning she prepared for us a wonderful breakfast fit for royalty. The wood burning stove in the kitchen added a real country feel to the place. Each morning I enjoyed a mug of hot coffee lounging in the inn's cozy living room by the fireplace while looking out over the spectacular view. Our room was perfect and most comfortable. The highlight of my wife's stay was the soul-soothing massage that Sondra was so kind to set up. Though we did go off and explore the area, I think we both would have been content to have spent the entire time just relaxing at the inn. Just a wonderful place with a wonderful host.

Romantic

Oh, my goodness, what an extraordinary place! My husband and I decided to escape the craziness of life for a while and retreat to the mountains. This place was definitely BETTER than expected. We used the "buy two nights, get one free" deal, and thoroughly enjoyed the entire time spent at this home. We stayed in the Newfound room, and the hot tub was absolutely perfect to relax us both! I also really enjoyed the fireplace next to the bed, and the amazing view from our bedroom windows. Sondra, the host, was absolutely wonderful. She is very laid-back, and made us feel comfortable from the moment we walked through the door. Her breakfasts were so filling, and delicious too. The first morning, we had a bread pudding with a vegetable omelet, the next morning was a fruit cobbler and bacon & eggs, and the third morning we had eggnog pancakes. All of these meals were completely filling and tremendous portions! The living room and game room were also nice, very modern compared to a typical bed and breakfast (which I appreciated... I mean, who really wants to take a vacation at Grandma's house?!) Overall, I am absolutely thrilled with my time spent away from "reality" and I look forward to visiting again in the summer! :)

FABULOUS INN

We just returned from a wonderful stay at the Newfound Bed and breakfast in Bristol, NH. Proprietor Sondra Keene could not have been warmer or more hospitable, anticipating our every need. We stayed in the Newfound Suite, with an incomparable view of Newfound lake, ringed by the Applachian mountains. Each morning we awoke to a specially prepared gourmet breakfast, and were provided with lots of information about things to see and do. An utterly relaxing and delightful experience for a very good value.

Hidden Treasure

As a mother of young children, I don't normally take the time to write a review, however I feel strongly that I should share this hidden treasure. The incredible charm of this Inn is not surpassed by the charm of its Innkeeper, Sondra. To say we were comfortable is an understatement. We felt very at home, just a more luxurious home :) We enjoyed every moment. I went with my two young girls who were as fascinated with the Inn as I, for different reasons. Although we do not live far from this area, we intend to make this a haven for privacy, peace, and pampering. I invite you to enjoy a visit!!

Loved this place.

A Newfound Bed & Breakfast was everything that we'd hope for and more. Loved the seemingly removed location, that is still just a short drive from restaurants, shopping, hiking, the lake, ect.

The best B&B we've ever stayed in. Sondra makes it feel like home, and her breakfast is amazing. The view is stunning year round, and the house is beautiful and comfy.

Best Romantic B&B

A Newfound Bed and Breakfast is absolutely beautiful. My husband and I were very impressed with everything the inn had to offer. The Newfound room was especially romantic with a gorgeous view from the 2 person spa tub or the private porch. Sondra is an awesome innkeeper who makes sure your comfort is top priority. Fantastic!

Awesome!

The views were beautiful! Sondra was awesome! I loved the decor of all the rooms. We went snowshoeing one day and shopping in Meredith the next. I can't wait to go back this summer for hiking and kayaking! This is the best B&B I've ever stayed at!

Can't recommend it enough!

My wife and I stayed here for the first 6 days of our honeymoon in the Newfound room. We were going to try out a few different Bed & Breakfasts in New England, but looking back I wish we could've stayed here a little longer. We loved every minute of it. The hostess, Sondra, really went out of her way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. She never skimped on anything, and was more than accommodating to our needs. Breakfast was AMAZING, 5 star quality. Each morning we were given something new to try, and she serves multiple courses. She also had many treats and goodies to tide us over throughout the day. The view from her house is breathtaking, and it is nice and quiet. "No tourist traps", my wife just said. If you're looking for a nice place to get away, I can't recommend A Newfound Bed & Breakfast enough! It was worth every penny.

Very comfortable, and the views!

My wife and I had a number of "honey-do" projects lined up during the winter break (works in the school system) though also wanted to get away for a night for mental health. As a kid, I spent my summer months, and many weekends on Newfound Lake and in the surrounding area, I figured this would be a good opportunity to go back to "the lake" and see what has changed, and found "A Newfound Bed & Breakfast" on the internet. This place was perfect for us. The views of the lake, looking out over Mayhew Island and Whittamore point towards Arrowhead point, The Ledges, and with Mount Cardigan forming the backdrop was both beautiful and memory inspiring. The B&B is very fresh, open, well decorated, and comfortable. Sondra was great. She showed us through the home, our rooms, the beautiful common room area where activities were, the music, etc. And, even tough she was literally visiting a surgeon to schedule a knee operation she required, she never missed a step in providing the service we expected. Thank you Sondra for establishing such a nice place to get away, for cooking a great tasty and filling breakfast, and letting us take our time checking out. Great place to relax.

Great place to stay. The place is high up on the hill which gives a wonderful view of the Newfound Lake. The innkeeper Sondra is great, very accommodating. Love the cozy rooms. Breakfast was delicious. I recommend this place to anyone who would like a quiet romantic or family getaway.

Romantic B&B, wonderful

The Newfound B & B is spectacular!  The nicest B & B we have stayed at.  The rooms were fantastic, the staff attentive and friendly, the views are absolutely beautiful, the food was delicious - dessert first! We stayed for our anniversary and had the most enjoyable and romantic time; we definitely plan on returning for get-away weekends.  The website cannot do it justice - it is a wonderful and relaxing location. Having access to all the amenities is a definite plus: grills, microwave, stove, full size stocked refrigerator; prepare your own, dinner in, dinner out, delivery. A must stay for heading out to the lakes region.

Fantastic Weekend

We’ve stayed at many B&B’s through our travels, and this one is definitely one of our favorites! It is situated on the top of a mountain, offering spectacular views from our room windows, the patio and the cat walk! We were happily greeted by two lovely and well-behaved dogs that are owned by the Inn Keeper, and friendly enough to call them your own while you’re there. The smell of fresh baked cookies and chocolate cake were enticing and comforting, all at the same time. We stayed in The Newfound room and were so pleased with the homey, yet romantic atmosphere it provided. The hot tub inside the room was a luxury and begged for morning and evening relaxation time! The view in September was sublime, and we can’t wait to visit in the winter. And of course, the home-cooked gourmet breakfasts were enough to make us want to go back soon. Every detail throughout the B&B was carefully designed by the warm and friendly Inn Keeper, Sondra, whose main goal is to make your stay the best ever. Celebrating my 40th birthday at A Newfound Bed & Breakfast was a wonderful surprise! Vickie & Sharon Natick, MA

Love in NH

My husband took us to Bristol, NH to stay in A Newfound B&B for our honeymoon. It was a surprise to me where we were going and I have to say it was an amazing surprise! Sondra, the owner and inn keeper made us feel right at home and was more accommodating than I ever expected. Even going so far as to make sure I had warm enough clothes since the location was a surprise I was not really prepared for the cold weather especially for a Texas girl. The house and the grounds are BEAUTIFUL! It was so relaxing and breakfast every morning was delicious and more that I could eat. Sondra also went above and beyond to accommodate my special diet needs as well and I was so very thankful! It was so lovely to be able to cook our own dinner in kitchen a couple of nights when we just wanted to stay in and enjoy the fireplace and relax. I would highly recommend staying with Sondra at A Newfound Bed & Breakfast!

Wonderful bed & breakfast in NH

We spent the weekend here and had an amazing time. The room was wonderful and the views were breathtaking. Sondra was the perfect host and cook. She even let us borrow her snow shoes so we could hike out back after the pre-Halloween snow storm. We can't wait to visit again.

Amazing B&B

My wife and I found this B&B for our annual romantic weekend getaway and could not have been happier. This is one of the best B&B's we've ever stayed in. A Romantic Home Away From Home

My fiancé and I stayed at A Newfound Bed and Breakfast in June of 2013. We stayed in the Cardigan room with our dog for five nights. It was a stay that we won’t soon forget, for all of the right reasons. The B & B home was spacious, welcoming and beautifully decorated. The views from the deck were awe inspiring. Our room was comfortable, cozy and also had a beautiful view of the mountains and Newfound Lake. We were not lacking for things to do! The innkeeper-owner, Sondra, is very knowledgeable about the area and recommended all of the right activities and restaurants for us. We kayaked, hiked and bicycled in the area. What’s special about this inn? From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we were made to feel “at home”, (without the work)! The house was available to use, including kitchen, living room, fireplace, loft /game area, and computer. The grounds were also ours to use, including grill, outside decks, fire pit, & hammock. Sondra cooks and serves delicious gourmet breakfasts with fresh ingredients. I appreciated her attention to detail in the rooms, on the grounds, and with her services. We have stayed at many Bed and Breakfasts in the past, and have often felt as though we were guests. Here we were treated as if we were family. This is what is truly special about this inn. If you would like to experience a relaxing, true home-away-from home experience, I highly recommend A Newfound Bed and Breakfast!

A Little Slice of Heaven

My wife and I were looking for a weekend away from the daily grind. We chose to spend three nights at "A Newfound Bed & Breakfast" based on all the positive reviews we'd seen on line. We couldn't have been happier. The entire Inn, our room, the kitchen, the balconies and the great room all had perfect views of Newfound Lake and the surrounding mountains. Breakfast was so good (and the portions so generous) that we enjoyed it both in the morning and the evening. Sondra, the inn keeper and owner, was delightful and made sure that our stay was comfortable. This was the relaxing, quiet, get-away weekend that we had been looking for. It really was "a little slice of heaven". We will be back.

My husband & I had a wonderful time at Newfound. Sondra was a fantastic & very considerate host. The views are spectacular, the accommodations were exceptional & the breakfasts were sinfully delightful!! Lucky Find

What a lucky find. Do not let the fact that you may feel you've lost your way as you ascend from road to gravel to dirt. Instead you now have happened upon a most perfect spot! The gardens are enchanting with colors ablaze and wonderful scents. There are many places to rest and drink in all the outside beauty and get a glimpse of the chickens that will be supplying some of the mornings breakfast. Once you enter the B&B it will be hard to take your eyes off the magnificent view of the mountains and lake but your nose will be directed to the very attractive open kitchen in which no doubt that Sondra will either be baking or has left the most delectable treats. Full use of the kitchen is a great plus. Breakfast was extraordinary and plentiful served inside or out - how accommodating! The common areas are so tranquil yet there is an abundance of games, dvd's, computer usage...and so much more. Our feature entertainment was the resident dogs - Samantha and Bernie!! Our bedroom was sumptuous with a great big bathroom and a oh, so comfortable bed. Sondra's personality surely is perfect for her chosen profession and her B&B - superlative!!

The perfect getaway

We stayed here for our 30th wedding anniversary and it was the perfect spot from which to hike and sightsee in the lakes region and White Mountains. The room had every luxury, wonderful views and the innkeeper could not have been more friendly or helpful in helping us find special places to spend our days. The breakfasts were scrumptious and ample, and the extra touches and snacks much appreciated.

Snowcastle high above Newfound Lake

I took my son up to NH for his spring break and we, unexpectedly, got caught up in a big snow storm. I could not have been happier being stuck at the Newfound B&B, which ended up being a snow castle in the sky, high above Newfound Lake! Sondra made us feel right at home and taught us how to make chai tea latte, which is delicious and although she makes breakfast every morning, which leaves you full all day, there are always snacks left out. The rooms are neat and clean and loaded with antiques and character, the common areas are comfortable and warm (fireplace) and the view is amazing. You will never leave her B&B hungry, cold or tired. Lots to do up there in the winter, including building a snowman, playing with her beautiful bernese mountain dog, hills to sled down, frozen lakes to walk on, and trails for snowmobile riding. And Sondra is one of the most thoughtful people … but that may be more just the way of life in NH. We had a blast, can’t wait to go back, and highly recommend staying at the Newfound B&B.

Perfect B & B

Our stay at “A Newfound Bed and Breakfast” was truly exceptional! Sondra is that kind of host you can only wish for, very knowledgeable about the area and one of the most genuine people we have ever met. She made our stay very comfortable and just simply perfect! This B&B is absolutely beautiful. The house is very lovingly decorated, and the views from the sunny porch overlooking Newfound Lake and its mountains are spectacular. The rooms (we stayed in the Cardigan Room) have everything you would want. We loved the Cardigan room so much that it was hard to get out of bed in the morning, but the promise of Sondra’s delicious breakfast gave us the necessary push. Our days were filled with biking, hiking, and a trip in Sondra’s truck with kayaks loaded up for a wonderful morning on the lake.

We absolutely loved this place

our visit occurred in the winter and we were the only guests at the house. Sandra treated us as guests but also as a friend. We had wonderful talks. The breakfast was exactly what we asked for and was tasty indeed. We loved Bernie her dog for sure. The view is unbelievable. And we had the run of the entire house which is huge. It is very clear that this home is a labor of love for Sondra with wonderful small touches that make it feel homey and warm. We want to stay here again and again. As you go up the street to this place, don't worry, you'll get there. I think it would be great if there was a big more signage at the main road perhaps? There might be some rules about that, though. You can't go wrong in this lovely place.

Simply the Best

We have stayed at A Newfound B&B twice now and we will be going back again and again. This is the most charming, relaxing and beautiful place I can imagine. Sondra, was BORN to be an innkeeper, she loves doing it and it shows. The place is clean, cozy and very homey. Every room has a private bath, a fridge and a view and the beds are very comfortable. The view is SPECTACULAR. Sondra's breakfasts are fabulous. Our dog loves going there as much as we do, with so much to explore! I HIGHLY recommend this wonderful inn!

Cozy and Warm

Newfound Bed and Breakfast is a warm and cozy place to stay in the winter. Sondra, the innkeeper along with her dog Bernie, are warm and welcoming but keep a low profile giving you the use of the entire house. She has delicious baked goods ready upon check in. Her breakfasts are to die for. It's a beautiful property with views of Newfound Lake. It's surrounded by woods. This was my second stay. I can't wait to go back.

We loved our stay at a Newfound Bed & Breakfast! The room was gorgeous and the views were breathtaking. I would more than highly recommend and I can't wait to return!
