Circa 1912. Located in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country in Lancaster, this historic home has been restored with its original chestnut woodwork and updated to offer modern technology like Wifi. Sit in the fireside parlor and play games or watch a movie. Tour the Amish countryside, shop the outlet malls, visit a museum and enjoy Hershey Park. Stay in an inviting air-conditioned guest room or the spacious two-room Country Suite. The Serenity Room boasts a whirlpool tub. Linger over a hearty breakfast in the formal dining room or on the front porch. It includes homemade granola and cereals, yogurts, breads and pastries that complement gourmet and classic entrees and made-to-order eggs accompanied by locally cured meats. Afternoon tea and treats are provided on weekends and indulge in refreshments each evening before retiring.

Our bed & breakfast is quiet with a comfortable decor that reminds people of a time when they visited their grandmom's house (a good thing!). We love to feed them or be sure that they have all they need to be satisfied and relaxed. Candles on the breakfast table and/or fresh flowers from my garden (seasonal). We put our guests at ease to relax and renew albeit romantically.

What's Green About Your Inn

All plastic, metal and paper are recycled locally. Light bulbs are energy efficient. Dishwasher is only run when FULL as well as the wash - only full loads done here! Cleaning products are environmentally and people safe.

Describe Garden and Grounds

Long driveway that is abounding in plant life - back yard is a bit enclosed by butterfly bushes and lavender plants. Tables and chairs are available in the back yard for outside seating or to just relax. Also, a fire pit - weather permitting. Large front porch to sit and relax on our old fashioned glider and/or rocking chairs.

Cancellations: 1)Up to 1 week prior to check-in: No cancellation penalty. 2)Within 1 week of check-in: $20.00 cancellation fee. 3)Within 24 hours of check-in: $20.00 cancellation fee + 50% of room charge. 4)As an alternative, we will be happy to reschedule your visit for another time. There are no refunds for early departure.

Engagement, Marriage and Honeymoon!

Me and my husband first visited A New Beginning Bed and Breakfast when we took our first trip together. After researching a few places in Lancaster I chose this establishment. It was the best decision I ever made for a special place to visit. It was a wonderful experience. A few months later my husband proposed to me in the Victorian Room. It was a special night and Denise and Al made it a even more special with a banner, rose petals, cheese and crackers and a bottle of champagne. A few months later we were married in their backyard under a tent with our family and closest friends present. Another beautiful and special day. Denise and Al took care of every last detail including turning a rainy morning into a beautiful sunny afternoon. It was perfect! After all the guests left we stayed and enjoyed a wonderul honeymoon weekend there. It has become our home away from home. Every visit with Denise and Al is another wonderful memory!
