Couldn't have asked for anything more!

Thank you for opening your beautiful home to us! We appreciate the closeness to the Creation Museum. We also took trips to Rabbit Hash and Lawrenceburg. Acapulco's has the best salsa and excellent Mexican food! Loved the front porch and being kept company by Willow and Dodger (cats). The breakfast each morning was delicious! The presentation each morning was beautiful! Did not ride, but loved seeing and watching the horses. Cats to pet, horses to watch, a beautiful room and amazing breakfasts! We couldn't have asked for anything more! Thanks!

Better Than Advertised!

Thanks for sharing your home and making our stay comfortable. The entire stay was better than advertised. We especially enjoyed the time with Bode and Buster (horses) and the awesome food.

Second Stay, Amazing Breakfasts

We came to Kentucky for an anniversary getaway and enjoyed our second stay at the First Farm Inn. What a beautiful setting for a charming B&B. Jen's breakfasts are amazing and bountiful, and the company enjoyable. The porch swing was our favorite spot!

Delicious Breakfast

Thank you for sharing your home. We've so enjoyed and have been very comfortable in the 1870s room. We have our grandma's wash stand just like yours. Our stay was a Christmas gift from our kids -- and they chose SO well! Your 'down home on the farm' feeling & hospitality has been great. Loved the animals -- tossed Odo's (Aussie-mix) ball repeatedly -- how can anyone ignore that sweetie? Your breakfasts have been just delicious and so varied -- a real treat every morning. We're celebrating our 58th wedding anniversary next month and take a fall trip every year. You've been a big part of this enjoyable one! Thanks again.

Whimsy and peace...

Thank you so much for making our birthday trip with the folks so memorable and special! We felt like we were staying with family. We appreciated your warmth, humor, creativity and amazing cooking! The whimsy of your yard, the sweetness of the animals the peace found on your front porch swing! We never tired of exploring and found new things daily. We will certainly be repeat guests!

Great combination of nature and art

This is one of the best farm inns we have ever stayed. I love the great combination of nature and art. Those cute animals are very friendly and peaceful. My kids have had a lot of fun with them too. Thanks for everything! We will all remember this beautiful place and wonderful hosts!

Extra-Special Christmas

There are no words that will adequately say thank you for making our Christmas getaway so special. The farm is beautiful. The food beyond overwhelming. And your home so inviting. Most of all -- your kindness and grace over the week made for an extra special experience for our family. Truly -- we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Mom & Son Horsey Getaway

“My son and I died and went to heaven! We came here for a spring break getaway. We both love horses. We enjoyed the horse grooming, riding experience. Jen is very knowledgeable. She helped me feel comfortable riding when I had not been on a horse for many years. Her home is clean, inviting, lovely. Our breakfast was fabulous. My son and I loved our ‘quality time’ here. I will definitely be back.”

Thank you

Our stay was more than I dreamed. The flowers greeted us each morning as did the swings, rockers and hammock. Odo (Australian sheepdog) entertained us with his blue ball game. Our time together with Dana and Jen was so special! They were so real and open with us yet let us have space. Their home was so welcoming. Thanks you guys!” Sugar Grove, IL

Lovely

Thank you for sharing your lovely home away from home with us. The animals and atmosphere were lovely. We enjoyed the trails, the time in the barn and in the hot tub as well as the terrific breakfasts. Attention to small details –like Jan’s diet Pepsi fetish and night lights on after dark were most noticed. We will tell our friends about the place and try to make it back to First Farm during next year’s Rolex.” Allison A.

Seven out of Five Stars

I wanted to thank you so much for a great stay with my daughter Maggie. It will be a daddy daughter stay she (we) will always remember. You knowledge of horses and gentle teaching style was wonderful to see. Maggie can not stop talking about it!! You will like this, we were looking at your site on Facebook, Maggie asked about what the star rankings mean on the internet and I told 5 stars is the best you can get. I then asked her how she would rate her stay with you and Dana. She said "7 stars". I told her, 5 is the best you can give. She then said " if 5 is the best I definitely would give them a 7" Guess that sums it up:-)

You are a Rainbow!

Thank you for a lovely visit and for opening your home. The room has been wonderful (even when we lost power – that should be an entire extra charge!) I have THOROUGHLY enjoyed the porch swing and hammock! While, I’d love to embrace more days relaxing, reading and writing notes, I have a heart that is full of both happy memories and an energized spirit. I leave First Farm Inn feeling PEACE! The breakfasts were delicious, too. Boy do you know how to make an impression! From where I stand you ARE a rainbow! Best wishes – please make time to relax yourselves

Our First B&B in the States

This was our first B&B experience in the States & it was great! The kids loved all the animals and the farm, playing soccer with Odo and riding the horses -- you even got me to ride a horse again when I didn't plan to. Breakfast was yummy too! It was great swinging in the swing and hammock and soaking in the hot tub. I think it's safe to say our mufti-generational family all loved it and meeting all of you!

Great Sanctuary!

We love it here! What a great sanctuary from the hectic chaos of life. We enjoyed the morning sitting on the porch having our quiet time with God -- watching the rain move in. Odo was a wonderful playmate! We loved kicking him the ball and he did all the work of getting it back to us. He was patiently persistent and so easy to want to please. Thanks for opening your home -- the cultural instruments were fun. Breakfast was amazing! SO delicious! We truly appreciate your hospitality!

Emerald Hills

After a long year in the confines of a cold and ice bound city, to come to the rolling emerald hills of Kentucky was a wonderful respite. We will long carry the treasured memories of Southern Genteel hospitality, fine fare and the gentle rest of comfortable friends and being surrounded by quiet beauty. While we did not on this stay get to partake in all the treasures of the inn, we will most assuredly return to allow the equine beauty to bear our weary souls over the countryside.

Great Trip!

Day 1 Sweet and easy check-in! We love the grounds, room and cats! Beautiful weather, wine and cheese on the deck (go to Findlay Market if you have the time!) Relaxation at the nearby casino. Day 2: Best day yet. Quick trip to Rabbit Hash (90 minutes) before riding Bode. Really fun time and we went at our own speed. Then off to the Wolf Habitat...Awesome! Brought some carrots for the horses and fed them. Hot tub, movie, wine/cheese, hot tub, bed. Completely relaxed Sunday morning. Great trip, great people, and things to do!

Perfect 3-Day Getaway

We appreciated the hospitality, friendliness & atmosphere of First Farm Inn. The home, grounds, people & animals are first-rate! Oh, the breakfasts also. Jen’s riding instructions & leadership helped we novices feel like horse people. The grooming & handling the tack was as much fun as riding. Perfect weather helped, but this was a perfect 3-day getaway in the spring. May God bless the First Farm family & future occupants to the 1870s room.”

Want to return here and to Kentucky

“We are very thankful to have been able to stay here at the First Farm Inn. Your kindness to extend extra time helpins us find places to see has been a blessing. We also thank you for a clean, beautiful and comfortable place to stay. The whole family enjoyed the swings and your farm. The breakfasts were also delicious and we appreciated the turkey. Thank you for our special treatment. The children felt right at home which isn’t always the way things go when we travel. We all will want to return here and to Kentucky. The fresh flowers and live animals were a balm and brought joy to our stay. We like LIVE creations! Until we meet again, our prayer is that God will continue to bless your family’s property.”

The Best B&B we've ever stayed in

Thanks for making our 45th anniversary celebration so perfect! Coupled with our visit to the Creation Museum, our stay at First Farm was such a blessing in every way – beautiful room (and house, great food, enjoyable hosts – and Tatiana’s superb musical talents) and fun conversations. We loved it all. Thanks for being the best B&B we’ve ever stayed in.”

Amazing Weekend

“Thank you for such an amazing weekend. Your patience with us was greatly appreciated as you taught us about horses. We learned so much! Your breakfasts were sumptuous, esp. the caramel walnut French toast!!! That was unexpectedly delicious and worth making again and again. We loved all the cats, but Monkey was our favorite and Odo is so much fun. Your hospitality is unmatched! Thank you for being so welcoming.”

Hate to Leave

“Beautiful, wonderful, amazing God has blessed you with a wonderful gift. We can’t thank you enough for sharing it with us. Our three days here has been amazing. The hot tub was the first wonderful thing we were able to experience since we arrived so late in the day. Then the sun came up and oh the breakfast was amazing…The second day the same thing, but to top that off was the horseback riding. What a wonderful feeling it was to get ‘back in the saddle.’ Your hospitality was above anything I could every wish for. The time we got to spend here with our friends from Indiana was truly a gift from above. I hate to leave. I know we will be back! Your cooking – as everyone else has said, is awesome. Thank you, thank you for opening up your home.”

Fantastic

“What can you say? What a great place. Small town feel with big city living. So close to the main stream but yet so far away. The hot tub is what the Dr. ordered. What a great and relaxing place. I know we have to return to the north and back to the real world until next time. Keep your place as it is – fantastic…”

Back Again

“We just wanted you to know how very much we enjoyed staying in your home. We came last year and had such a nice time, our kids gave us a visit for this year also. We don’t travel much, but I will never want to stay in a motel again after experiencing the hospitality and cleanliness of a Bed and Breakfast. Your breakfasts are absolutely wonderful! I’m sure you’ll see us again.”

Great Ladies Getaway

“Thank you for hosting our ladies weekend away! It was so fun and relaxing to come here with all the comforts of home and then some! This was a weekend of many ‘firsts’ for us – horseback riding for two of us, the hot-tub outdoors in winter for one of us, shopping at Jungle Jim’s for two of us, the wonderful massages for one of us, getting away without the kids for one of us, the list could go on and on!”

A Lasting Memory

“As someone who has traveled a lot through my life, I find it rare to find a place I’m not eager to leave when it’s time to go home. Here, I feel I could happily stay as long as I was able. It has been a true pleasure. Thank you for providing this wonderful getaway. You and your home will be a lasting memory and stand out in my mind from the so many bland memories I’ve had from my travels.”

Exactly what I needed

This trip was exactly what I needed. Our room was just perfect – the homecooked breakfasts tasty & filling (freshly brewed coffee from an avowed tea drinker!) The horses, the kitties and Odo – God’s creatures all gathered here in this wonderfully warm and friendly farm. Jen – your artwork has inspired me to “make time.” Thank you so much.”

Coming Back Again

“This is the second and hopefully not the last time we’ve visited First Farm. The hospitality is superb and the breakfast so yummy. (Jen makes the prep look so easy, but “people of the kitchen” know it’s talent & organization!) Riding Ginger, Sunny, Blue & Missy and this time Bode and Tommy was amazing. Jen is a great riding teacher. What a pleasurable time. Thanks.” Sombra, ONT, Canada

Beautiful & Warm

“What a nice “get away” this was for us. We love it all – from the beautiful and warm surroundings, the peace and quiet (no more fireworks), the pleasure of your company each morning, and tips on where to go for a good meal at night. The food was excellent! Thanks for sharing your recipes! We’ll be back. P.S. We will miss playing ball with Odo and petting all the kitties.”

Mini Art Museum

“We enjoyed our stay so much – great food, fine music by Tatiana on the holiday morning was a delightful surprise, and Odo, the stress reliever. Our riding time and lessons will carry us down the road a bit safer with our horse encounters. I love the art your home is filled with – a mini museum! Thank you for your hospitality and may God bless you beyond your dreams!”

Attention to detail

“Thank you for sharing your lovely home away from home with us. The animals and atmosphere were lovely. We enjoyed the trails, the time in the barn and in the hot tub as well as the terrific breakfasts. Attention to small details –like Jan’s diet Pepsi fetish and night lights on after dark were most noticed. We will tell our friends about the place and try to make it back to First Farm during next year’s Rolex.”

Renewing, refreshing, repeating

We originally contracted for a 3-night stay but enjoyed ourselves so much, we added a night! Close to many attractions--go to the Cincinnati Observatory, the Conservatory at Eden Park and Jungle Jim's. Definitely worth your time. but it was the quiet serenity of the farm itself, with its many animals, beautiful scenery, and clean comfortable rooms, as well as Jen and Dana's detailed attention to our comfort that really made our stay. Breakfasts were plentiful and filling, the horseback riding was a soul-lifting bonus, and soccer with Odo kept us active! All in all, highly recommended.

Animal lovers dream

Lovely peaceful home with lots of cats, horses and one crazy dog. Breakfast was fabulous. Room was nice with private bath. Owners were very nice and easy to talk to. Location is very convenient and not too far from Cincinnati. Hope to go back someday.

First Farm Inn family review

This is one of the few bed and breakfasts that allowed us to come with our young son (7 yrs.). We have stayed here twice and it is like visiting extended family. Last December (2012), I called Jen to let her know we would be arriving very late. She said she would leave the door unlocked and would get our beds ready. When we arrived, we let ourselves in, locked the door behind us, and fell into the sleep-ready beds. You sure can\'t do that at a hotel! It was just wonderful!!! Beyond that, breakfasts were yummy and healthy, the animals sweet, and our Christmas stuff was very safe in our vehicle. Oh, I almost forgot...Jen mailed our son's hat back to us. We didn't even realize it was gone. How thoughtful!

A Lovely Retreat

My husband & I had a very relaxing stay at First Farm Inn. The sweet kitty cats were an added bonus! I rode a horse for the first time in ten years and had a wonderful experience.

Great start to a long road trip

We had a great stay at the beginning of a long road trip - Jen is a fantastic host, the horses are lovely (and so much fun to ride), the food delicious, and the room was very comfortable. And a hot tub before hitting the road again was perfect. We will definitely be back!

One of the best

I contacted Jen and told her I was homeschooling my teenage son and looking to have horseback riding lessons and a lesson on the care of horses. She was very accommodating to our needs. We had a wonderful stay in the Treetop Room. The breakfasts were out of this world. We loved meeting all the animals on the farm. My son wanted to take some of them home. My son agreed with me that he would like to come back again.

A breath of fresh air

Breakfast was plentiful, delicious, and even healthy! First Farm Inn is located close enough to the major cities that its location is convenient, but far enough out that you don't experience the noise and bustle of city life. The family is welcoming, but not intrusive. I found the bed to be a little too hard for me, but my husband said he slept well.

Loved our get-away here!

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at the First Farm Inn and hated to leave. It's such a relaxing and peaceful environment, and the breakfasts are superb! Jen provides healthy options that are truly delicious and unique. The purpose for our visit was to go to the Creation Museum (VERY close), and the Ark Encounter (45 min. drive). We also enjoyed a number of delicious restaurants in nearby Lawrenceburg, IN and highly recommend both LaRosa's Italian & Pizzeria & Acapulco Mexican Restaurant. We didn't take advantage of the horse rides, or hot tub, but we thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the horses and other animals there. Lovely place that we would definitely visit again if in that area.

Very pleasant stay! Plus Horseback Riding

My dear friend, my 14 year old daughter and I just stayed overnight at First Farm Inn on our way back from a conference. My daughter and I went horseback riding the afternoon we arrived and the next morning, before leaving. We had such an enjoyable time! Jen gave us great instructions and also shared many interesting things about horses with us. We thoroughly enjoyed the charming and clean home...and the breakfast was so delicious. Dana and Jen were wonderful hosts!!!

Refreshing Weekend Getaway

My husband and I haven't spent much time away from home (any to be exact) since our 2 1/2 year old was born. I have been wanting to go back to First Farm Inn for forever! We had been horseback riding years ago, but never stayed overnight. And we also had never stayed in a B&B! Unfortunately , the weather was terrible so we didn't get to enjoy the hot tub or even to go see the horses (I was about to when a huge gust of wind blew right through me and I decided against it). But we had plenty to do aside from that so that was no problem whatsoever. Our room was spacious and very clean. We loved the antique furniture. The updated bathroom was perfect! And breakfast was delicious. We had an extensive menu to choose from and Jen asked that we leave a note of what we wanted. We woke up to this amazing aroma drifting up the stairs. It really was an awesome weekend.

Wonderful Country Getaway

We had a very nice time at First Farm Inn and would definitely recommend. Our family stayed in the Tree Tops room which was very comfortable and spacious. We loved looking up at the stars on the ceiling at night! Jen was a very gracious host and we loved the horse farm atmosphere. It was a nice to getaway from our busy schedules and relax at First Farm Inn!

Absolutely Wonderful

We stayed at 4 bed and breakfasts on this trip and the First Farm Inn was our favorite!! Jen and Dana are great hosts and they think of everything. There are so many interesting items in the inn that everywhere you turned was an item with a fascinating story behind it. And to top it all off, Jen is a great cook!! Breakfasts were incredible and were not the same thing every morning. Don't miss staying at this inn!!!

Wonderful weekend!

Loved our stay for a weekend away to First Farm Inn with my sister. Our room was great and the food was delicious! We appreciated the small touches of flowers and snacks in the room. Our hosts were welcoming and had great suggestions for food and entertainment. Also, if you decided to ride, whether an experienced rider or not, Jen and Caroline were extremely knowledgeable about horsemanship. They have a great selection of horses as well as Bunny the Mule and did a wonderful job matching up the riders with the horses. Thanks for a wonderful weekend! Look forward to another visit.
